Traducción e imprenta: una aproximación a la historia bibliográfica de El parto de la Virgen de Gregorio Hernández de Velasco // Translation and Printing Press: An Approach to the Bibliographic History of El parto de la Virgen by Gregorio Hernández de Velasco
Abstract
Despite its wide dissemination in print in sixteenth-century Spain, the translation of Sannazaro’s De partu Virginis by the Toledo theologian Gregorio Hernández de Velasco exhibits defects that impacted the composition and presentation of the text. This article examines one such defect, which affects folios 37r-v and 44r-v of the 1569 Salamanca and 1573 Seville editions, and explains its impact on the bibliographical history of the translation.
